Virginia Employment Laws Have Radically Changed!

On May 28, 2020, Pavan Khoobchandani talked with Bryan Clickener at Arkin Youngentob a Division of Risk Strategies about huge changes to Virginia employment laws that Virginia employers will be facing starting July 1, 2020.


From the new Virginia Values Act (which basically rewrote the Virginia Human Rights Act and added protections for sexual orientation and gender identity), to a ban on non-compete agreements for low wage employees, to new laws prohibiting worker misclassification, it's a new world for Virginia employers.


Virginia employers are going to need to be more diligent in making sure they comply with laws, and especially when discharging or disciplining employees.
